One section (red on map) begins at the Gold Star Mother's bridge that connects Prospect Street to Maple Street. It ends above the dam on Moody Street.

You can make a loop over the Moody Street bridge, behind the mill buildings, and over the Elm Street bridge, and back again along the south side of the river (green line on map), and along the Blue Heron Trail (blue line).

Another section (yellow on map) runs south of the river from Elm Street to Falwell Street. The Mary T. Early footbridge crosses via Calvary Street to the supermarket parking lot on the north side. The B&M railroad trestle has been torn down.
