Saturday, April 2 5:00 - 9:00 pm Community Farms Outreach will celebrate the tenth anniversary of sustainable farming at Waltham Fields Community Farm at its annual Spring Fling. The public is welcome to join us for food, live music by the band Independance, and a great silent auction. This family-friendly benefit event will be held at the Waltham Field Station, 240 Beaver St., Waltham, MA. Tickets are $20.00 for adults (children 12 and under free) and are available at the door or through our web site www.communityfarms.org. Sunday, May 22, 2005 2:00 pm Waltham Walks! - Come join friends, families, neighbors, teams and individual walkers on the Waltham Common for a short 1 mile walking loop. This community event promotes physical activity, Waltham's great downtown, and a walk-friendly community. Free-pedometers, health information, blood pressure screening, and raffles featured. Sponsored by Healthy Waltham, a civic group interested in improving the health and quality of life for people who live, work and learn in Waltham. Registration the day of the event. Wednesday, June 15 7:00 pm Springwell Presents Community Seminar with Michael Dukakis Springwell presents a free community lecture "Conversations with My Mother as She Grew Older" with Former Governor Michael Dukakis. The event will be hosted by Gore Place (52 Gore Street, Waltham) on Wednesday, June 15 at 7pm. Mr. Dukakis will be talking about discussions with his mother regarding the difficulties of aging and how he helped her live with dignity and autonomy throughout the years. If you have aging parents who will need your help as they grow older or are currently taking care of an elder, please join us. Event is free, but seating is limited. Friday, June 18 8:00 pm Rock The Walk - Fundraiser to support the National MS Society Join a team of determined walkers raise much needed funds for the Multiple Sclerosis society at a fundraiser on Friday, June 18th at 8:00 pm at the Skellig 240 Moody Street in Waltham. Moonshine will be the featured band and they have donated their talentsÊfor the evening. The Skellig has donated their location and food. So 100% of the proceeds from the night will be going to sponsor the team. Raffle items will be given out throughout the evening and include everything from autographed baseballs from Red Sox players, to weekends on the Vineyard and the Cape, to golf lessons, and much much more!!
